Community Introduction to Nathan Shipley

After an overwhelming response from residents to fill the open position, the Board of Directors has selected a new Director to fill the 2020 term vacancy.

Nathan Shipley is a native Katy resident, born and raised. His parents still reside in Katy, but Nathan has called Firethorne home for over three years, having moved here from Grand Lakes. Being a local, he attended University of Houston where he acquired a BA in Marketing.

Nathan has worked in marketing research and consulting in the Houston area for nearly 20 years, and he is presently with the same company he interned with as a college student. His career has focused on consulting with retail companies and guiding them through data and analytics to better understand their customers and improve how they run their business. His business acumen and methodology, along with his tenure, made him an ideal Director choice when considering the long-term changes and effects MUDs need to plan for in coordination with their consultants.

When not in the office, Nathan is a husband and father to three children. He is heavily involved in youth extracurricular activities in support of his family, including sports and dance. On the weekends, it is possible to find Nathan boating on a lake or tinkering with Jeeps in his garage.

Now that he has been appointed to the board, Nathan wants to focus on communication between the District and the Firethorne community. He feels there are a lot of good things happening in the District and wants to highlight that for residents. He wants to balance fiscal conservatism with seeking ways to maximize economic efficiencies for services within the District and responsible use of taxpayer funds.

Please join the Board of Directors in welcoming Nathan Shipley, as we are excited to have him!
